Sting, U2 and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are recording new songs
Yes, you read it right. Some have already recorded the songs, some have still a lot of work to do… but nevertheless, this news brighten my evening yesterday because I adore all 3 (OK, 9, to be exact) of them.
What I read on the internet, the release date of Sting’s new album “The Last Ship” is already known. September 24, 2013 is the day. The album will include songs which Sting wrote for the musical with the same name. This will be Sting’s 11th studio album and the 1st full-length album with completely new music since “Sacred Love”, which was released in 2003. Wow! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already since we first heard “Stolen Car (Take Me Dancing)”, “Whenever I Say Your Name” or “Send Your Love”.
U2 are apparently also working on a new material. Bono said eariler this year that it can take 10 years for this album to be completed, but their bass player, Adam Clayton, admitted that they would like to release it by the end of the year. Well, it’s about time, if you ask me. It’s been 4 years since their last album “No Line on the Horizon”. Unfortunately the latter wasn’t entirely to my taste (sorry). But considering that some say the new album will be similar to “Achtung Baby”, I’m really looking forward to hearing the new songs.
And a good news for all the Red Hot Chilli Peppers fans… Their drummer, Chad Smith, has confirmed that the group will start working on their next album in September. I was pleasantly surprised by the news because they released their latest album “I’m With You” less than 2 years ago and they’ve been touring for more than a year now. But, hey, I’m not complaining. I love their music so I can’t wait to hear the new material.
I hope that all of them will go on tour as well. I mean… they have to go, to promote new songs, right? Haha. My long-time wish is to see Sting live, but whenever he had a concert somewhere near me (in Slovenia or Croatia), I couldn’t go. I already had a ticket for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ concert, but something came up and I couldn’t go to their concert either. Well, at least I’ve seen U2, but would like to see them again.
